Day 2

Ok today. Another good day in that I’m thinking “what would Rebecca 2012-2013 do?

I’m still here!

Going to bed later than planned but alarm set for 7, and tomorrow’s 1% is changing the morning routine.

Get ready and be on elliptical within an hour and a half. Sooo 8:30 am tomorrow, and save any breakfast for afterwards.

Elliptical today for a whole hour! I felt great about that.

Worried about work, but that’s another days 1%.

Bed time.

Tuesday, May 5, 2020

Today I had a 1% change up.

Started with training session. Im 5 weeks in now, and to be totally honest, I have had good and bad weeks. Its bee a very rough month. I hit a wall…well a few I guess, but I’ll get into that.

Ended with playing Diablo with Ray. It’s Cinco de Mayo and I didn’t even think about having a cocktail. Ive bene having far too many cocktail nights.

With no work and all this time on my hands every night was getting to be staying up until 2AM and sleeping until 10-11:00 Am. Yesterday I decided it had to stop.

So yes, today started with a training session.

I worked today, just one house, for the first time in over a month. It felt a little strange, took longer than I intended, and I was a little panicked in the mask, but it was good to be back again.

With my recent nocturnal activities I was thinking that Id be missing that glass of wine..or 4..or vodkas…or whatever but not at all. I did my work and had a decent dinner, and pouf! Suddenly it was 7:30 PM. When I realized the time I had that minute where I’d usually say…”oh maybe just one glass of wine..” but tonight I didn’t think it. I genuinely didn’t want anything. Now I’m actually in bed at 10:30 PM.

I’ve had a million thoughts about my day to day existence in the last month.

This is the craziest time in my life. It beats everything,  other than dads death and the time leading up to it, but even in that, the world was turning around me going on as usual. Only mine was falling apart.

Now the world stopped. So little has been going on and it’s been scary and maddening, I’ve had terrible days and pretty good ones.

I got to spend some real quality time with my mom. Probably the easiest time we’ve ever had. With no outside interruptions, and just day to day life up there, it was really good. We planted a garden, and just spent time together.

Since I’ve been back I’ve had a couple of really good weekends with Ray. The in between time of not seeing him when I was at moms has not been great for us though. We’ve fought about stupid things. I’ve even questioned if we really belong together (again), but then I remember how I feel when we’re together and while there are times when I wish he would act or do some things differently, I do love him, and I’m quite sure he feels the same way about me, in both good and bad ways.

I want this to work out for us.

I want a life with him.

There are a lot of stressful things happening right now. Beyond personal lives, work has been nonexistent and I’m being forced to get into the video side of the real estate photo business, which I don’t want to do.

I’ve been wishing I could get away from real estate photography altogether so I’m hoping I can focus myself and do something about it.

Then there’s my weight.

I weigh more right now than I have in years. 20 lbs or more than I was at this time last year and it’s killing me. I started out well at the gym, and one month in, the virus shuts the gym down, along with the whole world in about 2 weeks.

Needless to say my roll was over, but Im so glad I started training with Leanne again. It’s not been as successful on the days I’m not training but I’m not giving up on myself.

I must pull myself up and get my shit together. Make small but consistent 1% changes.

So my 1% “big” change today was exercise, no drinking, and bed at a decent hour, which I don’t think has happened since all this started mid-March. I’ll worry about tomorrow, tomorrow but for today, I’m going to bed happy.

Back in Training

I started training over FaceTime with Leanne again today. Its expensive, but I need it.

Last week was bad. I mean REALLY bad. I was drinking every night and not working out at all. I needed a big slap in the face, so I called Leanne, and today, well it was great.

Last weekend was good though. Rays Birthday is the 5th of April and Ill be heading to moms Friday the 10th ( it was put off another 2 weeks...and you know...self isolate for 2 weeks after seeing him so now its the 10th), so we celebrated it this weekend. I feel like he was really "there" with me again this weekend. Its been a while.

Nothing is normal though. I don't know if it ever will be right now, but were managing to keep it together, and I know that I love him.

The decision to start training was a hard one. Financially its going to kill me, but I'm killing myself in other ways by not doing it.

Short and sweet. I hope I have more -better- things to say next time.

Written on 03/23/2020 - PANDEMIC

I’m laying here it is 1:44 AM Monday March 23.

Coronavirus 19 is taking over the world.

What started as some experiment gone horribly wrong in China…(they think...but we really don’t know), has not shut down that country, and more are following. Thursday the 12th was the last “normal” day I can recall. Ray came over and we were headed to play pinball, thinking it might be the last chance we got to do so if the US was following the lead of Italy and other countries across the world that had literally shut down to stop the spread of the disease. His daughter, Heaven, cut her hand though and he had to go home. He dropped me off at My Parents Basement and with Lysol wipes in hand, I played with 3 other patrons for hours. Did I really think that would be the last time Id be in that place for months? Not really. Who could have imagined what the very next day would bring.

Shut down. A state wide “shelter in place” order was issued and we all just let it sink in as we watched the numbers of cases in the US climb every day.

It’s weird, everything is weird. My mom is by herself in Marietta. My sister Elise is by herself in Buckhead. My sister Beth is up the street with her husband John so they have each other which is good.

I am by self I’ve been self-quarantining for a week now. I saw my boyfriend Ray this past weekend before he headed home so I could go for the 2 week period they say is in incubation time for the virus, then if all is well, I will head to my mom’s for a couple of weeks.

We had a weird weekend. We’ve gone through some rough spots recently, beginning the on our anniversary weekend last month. He behaved in a way on a night out that really frightened me, and I don’t think he was, or is, really sorry about it, or thinks he did anything wrong. Then the next weekend we got into a real fight. It was about the virus, and facts that he “knows” and things I’ve been told by people who work in the field. The argument, on my end, seemed more about how he seems to need to be right about everything he talks about. His claim is “I don’t talk about things I don’t know about”. My side is, “ If an infectious disease Dr from the CDC says they had funding cut then Im going to go with yes, they did..” an argument supported by MG, who was there for this exchange at My Parents Basement.

We all came back to my house and it was all fine until I brought it up again when we went to bed. I was drunk, so was he. I really don’t recall the exact exchange of words except at one point I told him to get out of my house. This was a mistake. My “fight or flight” instinct kicked in and I just wanted him to shut up and not be there anymore. I paid for it the next day and I think for weeks after. I think Im still paying for it. He told me Id “threatened” him...a word he uses to explain how he feels when I tell him we should just break up if we can’t work things out. That word means something else entirely to me, so when he uses that word against me I feel all the more frustrated and angry with him. I will say however, he was right in that I don’t need to “threaten” to break up with him every time we have an argument.

Fight or flight. That’s all I know. Im working on it. I promised him I would never “threaten” to break up with him again unless I meant it for good. I will keep that promise because he’s right about that part for sure. I need to learn how to have an argument and know that the man I love still loves me too and that he’s not going anywhere, and neither am I.

That was 5 weeks ago and I still feel like Im being punished a little, but Im working through it. I will say though, that especially now, with all that happening, I really wish he would just go back to loving me again the way he did in the fall, because sometimes it doesn’t feel like he does anymore.

Saturday night I walked outside with gabby and was looking in at the lights of the house thinking if this weren’t going on right now, this pandemic, that maybe I would break it off with him.

Fight or flight rearing its head again? We aren’t arguing, but something has changed. That man that wanted me so badly back in the fall has retreated. Or maybe I pushed him away? In the last 5 weeks I’ve bent over backwards to let him know how much I love him and how much I want him to be in my life. He has not done the same for me, and that coupled with the rest of this shit, well, it makes me sad, and worried about what is in store for us. Or maybe that horoscope from last year (which I believe was addressing this very time of year) is true. That one or both of us is not seeing this relationship for what it really is.

I do actually love him. I mean really love him. I think about him and the year that has passed and I’m so happy that I met him. Ray has been somebody that I have experienced things with that I have never done with anyone else. Back in October when we started over again I really thought he was all in. Trying to be the man I wanted.

Where it falls short I guess is my fantasy of what it could be. Or maybe just what it actually should be in reality in some ways. Money seems to be an issue, and Im afraid it always will be. I wish I had a million dollars so I didn’t have to worry about any of that stuff, but even if I did, I think I’d resent always feeling like Im footing the bill.

OK wait hang on I don’t pay for everything all the time. There are many times when Ray paid for things, but I do think that he does forget or just doesn’t realize how much money I spend on just the things we do at home. He does contribute in many ways. He gets in the mood to do something and suddenly 3 projects get knocked out. Boom! So yeah that’s super helpful and greatly appreciated.
The main part really is that sometimes, especially after last summer / fall, I wonder if  there’s something going on with him mentally that I won’t be able to handle. I don’t know what it is, but he says things sometimes that make me take a pause, and I feel like Im still being held away from his real self.

I don’t know how to describe it other than that we’ve been together for over a year now and I’m still NOT a part of HIS life. He comes to me, and he’s part of MY life. It’s almost like he comes here and its like a little bit of a vacation.

So when I walked outside Saturday night, and I was having these thoughts about whether I really wanted to be with him, I got upset, because I know when it’s time for him to go home I get sad, and laying here now I miss him.

Things are just hard right now and with this being my only real experience in some ways with a lasting loving relationship, maybe Im just expecting too much. We are, at best only human, and let’s face it, this situation is new for everyone.

I mean right now the entire world is falling apart. Literally the whole world is falling apart. Like my best option right now is to stay in my house and not go ANYWHERE. It’s a very Stephen King kind of thing. Seems totally unreal and yet it’s happening.

I wonder lying here if someone I know will get it and die. Even a “bar friend”, or one of my REAL friends. Anne and Vic are in New York City…it’s a death zone. Im so worried for them.

 Or Ray….or my sisters….or me…or my mom.

I’m so scared for her. I’m so worried even for her to be around me or anyone else. I know that she is lonely and is waiting for us to come up and be with her but I almost feel like she is better off and safer without anyone there. It’s hard to explain it to her and make her understand that we’re not going to stay away from her on purpose, and I can hear the tears in her voice when I tell her to keep hanging on and I’ll be there in 2 weeks.

I want to be there, I do I really do, but I’m so afraid that me being there is going to put her in harms way because this virus is so contagious… it’s frightening… it’s so frightening.
I don’t want my mom to lose her life and be on a ventilator because we just couldn’t wait to hang out. She’s being so tough, so awesome, such a trooper. My father was a Vietnam veteran. He did 2 tours and was awarded the Bronze Star again and again.  I believe that my daddy would be very proud of my mother…. his bride…. that she is being so tough and so willing to do what she needs to do to stay safe.

I fear for all of her efforts that if even one of us goes up there to hang out with her at this point that we are going to be raining death to her door. Tomorrow I may call my mother and tell her that I’m not coming up there and, I think that we all (Beth and Elise) should do the same thing for now.

Sleep now.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring better news.

Starting over at "home". 2/18/20

I wrote the post below last night but just got it up today.
My January plans went south quickly after hurting myself by overdoing it too soon working out, then getting sick.

I just flopped right back into my old habits.
I've been so upset with myself recently for this. Trying to get Ray to go to the gym with me to help me go has failed. Hes just not going to do it so after I had a meltdown on Monday night on the phone with him, I decided to do something about it.

Read on...

I went to the Wellness Center today. I finally had had enough of making excuses as to why I “can’t “ get myself under control.
The wellness center has twice before helped me save my life, which is why when I walked in there this afternoon for the first time sine February of 2015, it felt like I’d never stopped going.
Probably shouldn’t have, but I can’t change a minute of the past, I can only change my future.
I’ll take it a day at a time and I know I will get back to that place of feeling good again.
Ironically it’s 3 or so months before I’ll hopefully be leaving Decatur forever, but the goal is to get back into the habit, and along the way go ahead and get familiar with the hospital gym in Marietta.
I hope it’s similar but one way or another this MUST be back in my life again. I’ll keep my elliptical at home for the couple of odd days that I won’t be going to the gym, and I’m not thinking about weight loss as much as getting back to the person INSIDE that I know I can be. I was once, so she’s in there.
who is that person?
She’s the Rebecca that IS a person that makes working out a priority, and IS a person that sincerely makes an effort to treat their body better inside and out.
She ..I...AM that person. I’ve just been letting the other person...GeminiTwin haha...drive the bus for far too long.
Praying to have strength every day and not to give up.
My goals are not unreasonable, but they are strict.
One change is necessary to help the next.
Go to bed earlier EVERY night!
No weekday wine!
Get up, get dressed, have a cup of tea then get my soon to be well toned ass to they gym!
Avocado toast is now for the weekends. As it should be.
I’m happy today. I want to make these statements a reality.
I am the only person in charge of how my life turns out.
Do better, get better.

So that was Tuesday, and here the next day, I went again this morning, and it really was like coming home again.

It Begins

A rare post NYE entry -
The year has begun, and as usual I've made the commitment to get back on track. The New Years pot was all about Ray, so I decided to maybe keep up with my own challenges like I used to years ago. Who knows if I will follow through with it, but I think about 2012 a lot and I look at the things that were helping me, and I think writing crap down was one of them.

Ray and I are doing "no drink January", and getting on the train of a healthier lifestyle in general. Hes not a big drinker anyway so I don't think he will be tempted, and actually right now Im not either, although it really has only been 1 day for me.

I think sometimes I build things up in my head to be bigger than they are, and when I do that , I "borrow trouble" (something my dad used to say) where there is none.

SO instead of focusing on the maybe, Ill do a day by day and focus on the NOW.

NOW I need to go work out. I did lower body yesterday, so today is upper body.

Im 231 lbs and in terrible shape compared to how fit I was at one time, and I want to accomplish that if nothing else. The fitness part.

Im prepared to have trouble getting the weight off, as Im 49 years old and have hit menopause so I know that causes middle-weight gain and all sorts of fun things men done have to deal with. I think focusing on the feeling good, getting fit, and living a more healthy lifestyle is what I need.
Yes I want to be under 200 lbs once in my adult life, but Im not going to kill myself to do it.

I know I need to give up bread, and I am easing into that. Today my focus is working out and no drinking. Both of which I wont have any trouble doing. :)

Good start. Fingers crossed it will click like it has a few times in my life and Ill be back on track.

The biggest difference is I have a partner in it for the first time in my life, and while he cant do it for me, its nice to be with someone thats on the same page and supportive.

I fell happy today, and lucky to be where I am in my life.

Until tomorrow!

New Year’s Eve 2019

It’s here again. That time I reflect on the year gone by.

As I do every year, I just read through last years post, and the year before. Last year I was beginning the road to recovery from a year of darkness....wait...5 years of darkness really. I was positive and determined to make the changes I set out to do.

So what did I do?

Well I have to say the year actually started out pretty good. I was following my path. Stopping drinking so much, exercising regularly again, and reigning in my eating. My business was humming along too, and I finally felt like I was able to breathe.
January I was on the right track again, FINALLY!
Also, I’d given myself a year of no dating, something I sooo do NOT regret as lonely as I was. I needed that. I’d spent a year morning a life I was never meant to have with a person who is evil and sick, and I can honestly say now that I feel lucky to NOT have ended up with him...he who shall not be named....heh...Voldemort!

As I stated in my post last year, if he’s mentioned, I hoped it was to say how I’d had a day where I woke up and realized I had not thought about him the day before. Well, I’m happy to say that has happened! As a matter of fact today when I was thinking about starting my entry, I had to think about whether I’d had days when he didn’t cross my mind and yeah he’s still there in a dark corner, lurking like the spawn of hell that he is, but it’s not something I thought about all the time. Just in passing, and more because of certain things that were happening at that time.
He has been a topic of conversation, but he had to be to some degree, because I met someone.

Yup. I surely did....but I am getting ahead of myself.

I put myself back on line at the beginning of February.

I’d thought about waiting until I lost some weight, because truthfully I was not feeling my best in the looks department, but I my spirit was finally healing and so I did it.

One of the changes I stated that I wanted to make, and actually have been successful with, is not to wait for life to come to me. I was going out to my pinball league by myself, and trying to be more social in general. Something that had all but died in 2018. Dating again, or at least starting the meeting and talking process again, seemed like the right thing to do too.

What I did not want, was to jump into something with anyone too quickly. I thought it would be a better idea to date a few people casually. No sex, dating only, really getting to know people, and in the process learning to trust again.

I also had a strict process I decided to use to weed out the garage. Talk on the phone for a week, FaceTime so I can see them before meeting, and when I meet them, not more than 2 drinks so I can keep my wits about me. I mean after all, it had also been nearly2 years since I’d had sex so along with feeling better in general, I was quite frisky!
All this assuming I actually met someone I liked, I was determined to wait. Really WAIT to get to know someone. I mean, yes, I’d done that years before with every guy I’d met for the most part, but somehow I’d missed things I guess. In any case, I figured that was still the way to go, So when I met a guy in the first 2 days of being on line, I took note to be cautious, not get excited, and to use this as a start.

I ended up meeting him a week in. I’d done the talking. The face timing, and I admit I was more excited than I needed to be which just made my disappointment all the more severe when we met in person and he was not only a for shorter than he’d said he was, but was also sporting a fabulous rack of rotten bottom teeth.

I know, that’s really shallow. I get it, but it was the fact that he lied about these things more than the fact of them in general. I went to the bathroom in the restaurant and almost cried. I thought in that moment “ this is it. This is what I’m meant for. It must be because it keeps happening “ so instead of walking out, I decided to get shitty drunk and make the best of it.
I guess it went better than I thought because the next day when I told him I wanted to just be friends he was very disappointed. Pissy even.
I’d met him up in Marietta so when I got home I got in the hot tub and looked at they sky thinking...”where are you? Do you even exist? “
I went home the next day feeling very defeated.
Monday I almost deleted my profile, but I was busy with work so I forgot about it until Thursday night. February 14th. Valentines Day. The Bain of my existence my entire dating life. The Hallmark holiday created to make people in love spend more money on roses and make people like me feel more alone than ever. A yearly reminder that I am loveless.
Laying in bed that night I did my usual routine. Tv on but not watching it. Put lotion on my feet. Open iPad to poke around until I get sleepy.
Ok Cupid - the dating website of choice for the moment ...’sigh...ok I’ll look one more time before I delete my account’

And there he was.

Silly and a little arrogant in the approach, but funny. The funny is what drew me in. He sent me a message and I responded. Next thing I knew 3 hours had gone by and I was going to be sleep deprived in the morning, but well worth it.

Two days later we met. I broke all the rules I’d set from minute 1. I did manage to speak to him on the phone briefly an hour or so before we met but no FaceTime, and I didn’t know what to expect. What I got was funny, cute, smart, musical, caring, inventive, creative, thoughtful, caring , loving, kind, sexy and strong.

We played Pinball, talked, laughed. He made me very nervous. He kept looking me up and down. I was convinced he was internally mocking my size ( he is very small framed, and not my typical physical type at all) which is why when he suddenly laid a kiss on me at the pinball machines I was shocked. Aaaaaaand stirred up.

The next suggestion by him was to go to my house and watch a movie. Again, rule breaking dynamite, but I lit the fuse and went with it.

We watched a crazy film that he pulled up from a movie storage site he has. He was “handsy” and I was nervous, but I also thought ya know what? Screw it. What do I have to lose? So when movie turned to making out, then turned to ya know...what happens after that...I went with it, and it was amazing.

I felt close to him immediately which also felt wrong, (I mean close as in it felt like Id known him my whole life), and the next day when he left I was sure I’d never hear from him again, but the next day he called me and asked me out to dinner.

I would say the rest is history but there is a lot in between that moment and today that I want to acknowledge all of it. There is good and bad and ugly.

My year has been rough in a way because of this relationship, but it’s also been good, and given me the gift of a love that I never thought possible. He’s my love and my best friend.

Yeah...that’s a lot. HE’S a lot.

Ray. Phillip Raymond Stamps.

The month of February into March flew by. We both felt it. The crazy connection, the passion, the fun, and the love. It was there from day one.

We are from very different backgrounds. He had been married for 25 years and has 5 kids with her. She has issues with alcohol, which made my drinking al all make me feel self-conscious sometimes drinking around him. Also, he’s SKINNY and I knew from a conversation about 1 week in that I was definitely NOT his physical type. So the eating in front of him also became an issue at first, but the one rule I didn’t break when I met him was to always… I mean ALWAYS be myself, so I did what I would normally do.  I drank ate and was very merry indeed!

Until…
He told me he was still married. Yes, a month into everything he told me he’d never filed for divorce. Separated for 3 plus years, yes, and explained that if he’d told me that in the beginning I’d never given him a chance. He’s right, I probably wouldn’t have, but now I was IN IT.
The problem was that I’d made a point repeatedly that honesty in all things was so very important to me, and exactly why. I even told him about Mike, and all my history with heart break, deceit, abuse both physical and mental…everything.
So when this news was slapped upon me one morning 15 minutes before I had to leave for a shoot…well…I was devastated. I didn’t even have time to process it. I just had to go, but as the day wore on, it sunk in.
Red flag? Ummm crazy flaming flag was more like it. All the trust I’d given to this man was destroyed in one moment. But I was IN IT. So I forgave the lie, and moved forward, but something had changed. I felt that old demon of mistrust creeping in.
A month later I caught him in a lie about a party that he didn’t tell me about because he didn’t want me to go. He didn’t tell me, I figured it out, and he dismissed it. But it bothered me enough to bring up one more time a few days later and I sent him a text late at night, which he got the next morning, and he was pissed.
We had our first fight, and it was ugly. He blamed me for being paranoid, and spoke to me so harshly (I was at work by the way so crying in someone’s basement…not cool) that on the way home I decided I wanted to end it. It was not worth going through this again. He was a liar, and was also hiding me, just like Mike.

When I got home and called him back though, we talked. No fighting at all. Just talked it out. Even this was different for me. I was so used to being made the fool and ghosted afterwards that I was expecting him to do just that, but I was going to beat him to the punch. Instead we did what I guess people in love do. Talked it through and moved on, or at least tried to. There was some damage and I was on guard, so when he started changing in other ways in Mid-May I was actually almost ready for it. Expecting him to pull away just as I was falling in deeper, which is exactly what happened.

At first I was upset by his declaration of “I need space”, but then I was pissed. He had all the space he wanted, and I was more than happy to give him more. I took the road Id NEVER traveled before and just went on my way doing ME. I tried to stop caring about him and whether I saw him. I will give myself credit for this, because in my year of removal from “life” Id found a stronger “me” and was not willing to put myself in harms way again.

The end of May: He came to my moms house for the first time under duress. I was thrilled but he was obviously under a tremendous amount of pressure that I was unaware of. A disaster.

June: My birthday was hard. He almost didn’t even go due to his Anxiety Disorder - the main reason for all the issues that were happening I would later find out. Well, that and he’d stopped taking the meds that help it. We got through it. Not unscathed, but I was happy that he came at all. Again, trying to do “me” while not losing him.
I didn’t see him for 3 weeks after my birthday, and though I missed him I felt like Id already lost him so in a way I was already moving on.

July: I saw him twice. Both times were strained, and after the last time, and weeks of not hearing form him for days at a time, I finally called it quits. Over text no less. He couldn’t give me what I wanted (deserved!) and I couldn’t keep punishing myself for wanting more than he was capable of.
The moment I realized it was really over I felt physical pain in my heart. I recall I texted him saying I felt like someone had just died. I cried for 3 days straight. Upset, but also pissed, because I really felt like I was not asking for anything out of the ordinary. He just didn’t want ME.

August: 4 days after I broke up with Ray, I went back on line, determined not to let this kill my heart again, and I met someone the first day. I won’t go into detail about this one. He was a Mike…Literally…so I should have known better but I was heartbroken, and he was there. All over me. Attractive, funny, smart, but dark. Very dark indeed as I would come to find out in about a week. The first incident that made me think “dear God I miss Ray” was our 3rd date.

Why I stayed with him for 2 months I don’t know. We did nothing but argue.

September: in the middle of this thing with Michael, Ray called me one day right before labor day. My heart stopped when I saw the name on the phone. I almost didn’t answer, but Id always thought that we could maybe be friends, so I picked up.

We talked for an hour, during which time he presented the same accusatory attitude toward me as before, but also, was hinting that he wanted to see me. I was more hurt, and irritated than ever. I told him I was seeing someone else. End of conversation, and I thought, “well that’s that”, but it wasn’t.

Within a few days he called again, telling me that he needed to explain what happened. I called him back on labor-day. We talked about a lot of things, and he explained that he’d stopped taking his meds in April after running out of them, but was feeling so good at the time didn’t think he NEEDED them. So all the behavior, the dismissiveness, the pushing me away, all that was supposed to be because of this miracle drug that kept him on a level plane. He also told me that he had had irrational thoughts about me, and knowing they were not true finally sought help in therapy, and new meds.
For a month he’d been working on himself and after realizing I was really with someone else from out previous conversation a few days before, he woke up. He told me he loved me, and he wanted another chance.
I was in tears. Crying silently at the loss, the love that was still in my heart, and also the fear that was now there because of this new information. I didn’t know what to think, so I asked him to give me time to let in marinate.
He didn’t do that. Instead, for the next month he sent texts emails, and videos of himself declaring his love, and saying how sorry he was for everything.

Now, part of me was truly scared of this. I honestly didn’t know if he was seriously unbalanced, or if he really was just doing this truly romantic thing, knowing inside that I still loved him too.

In any case, it further damaged an already fragile situation with Michael, so at the end of September I broke it off with him. And after thinking about it hard for a week, I texted Ray again.

Side note about Michael: I really did like him, and think he’s an extraordinary person in some ways, but no matter how good or bad he was, I was in love with Ray, so nothing would have made it work.

October: I saw him again on October 5th for the first time in 2 months, (so I guess we now have 2 anniversaries!), and it was like no time had passed at all. Oh, I was still apprehensive, and things did not start back immediately, but I guess the point it is they did.

Now, almost 3 months later, I sit here having spent every holiday with him, and my family, and he has been on board with everything. I’ve been to therapy with him, been to his house, met one of his kids, his best friend, and his other “group” as well.
I’ve been more intimate with him in every way possible, and we have the best level of communication I’ve ever had with another human being on earth.

Reading back through all this “bad” it’s really OK, because so much “GOOD” has come from it all. I honestly think I needed to see someone else and have that time apart for both of us to pull ourselves back to right again. Is it perfect? No, of course not, but I love him so much sometimes I feel like my heart is going to burst!

So here we are, New Year’s Eve 2019, and Im in my office writing this while he’s sitting in the den watching TV, waiting patiently for me to be finished with this so I can get ready for out New Year’s Eve date night!
Another First!
I’ve had so many “firsts” this year. Some not so good, but most wonderful.
Im looking forward to next year more than I have ever before.

My issues at hand, the same as always.

Weight, eating and drinking more responsibly, and exercise. Oh yes, and, my work of course. I know I glossed over all those things in order to tell this other story but it was the more significant thing, and will always be I hope.

I can tell this story and know that the issues I have I now have a partner with whom I can rely on to help me through them, as I will with his own issues.

Ray, if you ever happen to read this know that at this moment I fell a love for you that is stronger and has made me happier than I’ve ever been in my life.
You take care of me in so many ways.
You make me kinder…more selfless…you make me feel good. So good I forget whatever darkness may resurface in my sleep from years of pain.
I lose myself in you...find myself through you....and when I’m with you we’re the only two people on earth.

I hope my entry next year is full of the accomplishments we have done together and the love we have shared.

To my best friend…my love…Cheese Sammich!

Happy New Year

Birthday Blues and Gratefullness

Well I made it a year.  I don’t know if my life expectancy of 2-5 years includes this past year or not, so this year might be my last I sup...
